Calling all filmmakers: Entries sought for the Olympic Peninsula’s eighth annual River & Ocean Film Festival

Submit short films by April 22 for a screening at the Rainforest Arts Center in Forks. 

Forks, WA – The River & Ocean Film Festival returns in 2024 to celebrate the freshwater and marine environments on the west side of the Olympic Peninsula. This year the Festival will hold two showings: July 26 in Port Angeles, Washington in partnership with the 30th anniversary of the Olympic Coast National Marine Sanctuary and October 18 in Forks, Washington. Short films from the peninsula and beyond will showcase the region’s beauty and opportunities as well as the issues facing its aquatic habitats and human communities.  

Film submissions are now being accepted. Films must be less than 20 minutes long and relevant to the natural or social dimensions of the coast and coastal watersheds of the Olympic Peninsula. The deadline for submissions is April 22, 2024

Please include: 

  • The entry’s title, 
  • Name of filmmaker,
  • A brief (maximum 250 words) description of the entry, 
  • Running time. 

The festival organizing committee will review all entries as they arrive and make selections on a rolling basis. To arrange submission, please send an email to Ian Miller at immiller@uw.edu
